Traveling along cobblestone streets you'll view historic homes, restored public buildings, as well as the famed Battery. Today explore Boone Hall Plantation, one of America's oldest working plantations. The impressive half-mile arched entry is lined with massive moss-covered oak trees. See the remarkably preserved slave quarters, formal gardens and capture a taste of the antebellum south. Next, travel along South Carolina's scenic coast to the charming town of Beaufort to enjoy its pre-Civil War ambiance. This evening arrive in the port city of Savannah where accommodations for the next three nights are provided at the Hampton Inn and Suites located in the historic district. This morning enjoy a guided tour of Savannah which has the largest restored historic district in America. There are over 1,100 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. Today we travel to Georgia's beautiful Golden Isles. Here you'll tour Jekyll Island's historic district, "Millionaire's Village" and learn about the celebrated Jekyll Island Club. You'll also view the cottages of such famous names as Rockefeller, Goodyear, Macy, and J. P. Morgan. Later visit St. Simons Island and see its famed lighthouse.B, D
