Day 1

Our journey today takes us to the quaint small town of Gettysburg, PA where accommodations for the next three nights will be included at the Wyndham Gettysburg. A welcome dinner is included this evening.


Day 2

Today visit the Gettysburg Military Park Visitor Center containing an impressive collection of artifacts from the Battle of Gettysburg. Witness Gettysburg's Cyclorama that dramatically depicts "Pickett's Charge." You will view the breathtaking film "A New Birth of Freedom". Later experience a compelling tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield with an expert guide. See all the monuments and weapons that are dedicated to the Union and Confederate soldiers who fought here. Witness where the battle started and ended as your guide dramatically describes its progression. Later visit the home and farm of General and President Dwight D. Eisenhower. You'll see every room, from the sun porch where the President entertained world leaders to the First Lady's entirely pink bathroom. This evening enjoy a candlelight ghost tour in Gettysburg's downtown area.


Day 3

This morning take the short drive to Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Discover the site where one of the most famous raids in American History sparked the beginning of the Civil War. Later explore the picturesque town of Harpers Ferry lined with well-preserved historic homes and restored shops. This evening enjoy dinner at the historic Dobbin House Tavern.

Day 4

Following breakfast visit the Shriver House to learn the civilian side of the Civil War through the experiences of George and Hettie Shriver. Depart for home with a deeper appreciation of the people and places that helped to shape America.
