Day 1

Today we'll begin our Canadian Rockies journey by heading west to Calgary. We'll arrive in the evening and enjoy an included dinner and a one night stay at the Delta Calgary South Hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast, we'll depart for picturesque Waterton Lakes National Park, where the sprawling prairies of Alberta meet the towering Rocky Mountains. Its not only part of the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, but also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve - the only park in the world to receive all three of these honors. Here we'll find crystal clear lakes and kaleidoscopic streams, abundant wildlife, cascading waterfalls and terrain unchanged for centuries. We'll stop en route at Head-Smashed-In-Buffalo Jump - a cliff used by native peoples to slay buffalo for survival purposes for over 5,500 years. Later this afternoon, arrive at our home for the next two nights, the Bayshore Inn, ideally located on Waterton Lake. Enjoy an included dinner this evening.

Day 3

A special treat is in store today as we day trip to the United States and to the town of St. Mary, Montana to board vintage 1930's Red Buses for an Eastern Alpine tour of Glacier National Park. We'll travel up the Going-to-the-Sun Road to the Continental Divide and Logan Pass, the highest elevation in the park at 6,640 feet. Here, you'll find meadows covered in brilliantly hued wildflowers and opportunities to spot mountain goats, bighorn sheep and other wildlife uniquely adapted to live at this altitude. We'll return to town for lunch on your own before transferring back to our hotel for the evening.

Day 4

This morning we'll bid 'Au Revoir' to Waterton as we journey toward Banff National Park and the beautiful resort town of Banff full of restaurants and shops. Accommodations for the next three nights are provided at the Rundlestone Lodge.

Day 5

Today we will travel north along the Icefields Parkway, a showcase for some of the most impressive natural scenery in the world. Imposing mountains and sweeping views will be on display as we make our way to Peyto Lake, a glacier-fed lake that seems to almost glow a dazzling turquoise color. Next, it's on to a once in a lifetime experience - take a ride and a walk - on a glacier! Trek across Athabasca Glacier on a mammoth vehicle designed specifically for glacial discovery, the Ice Explorer. We'll return to our hotel in the late afternoon and have the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 6

Our final day in Banff features some of the most breathtaking panoramas in all of Canada. We'll witness the incredible reflection of the Ten Peaks in Moraine Lake and stop at Chateau Lake Louise for photo opportunities. Other sights will include Mount Rundle, Tunnel Mountain, Bow Falls (immortalized in the 1953 Marilyn Monroe movie River of No Return) and the surprising Hoodoo rock formations. This evening, we'll reflect on our grand adventure during a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 7
