Day 1

This morning arrive in Tarrytown, New York and visit Washington Irving's Sunnyside. This charming riverside home is filled with the author's possessions. A guide tells us about his storied past and how he became America's first international author best remembered for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and other short stories. Next tour the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery where, as legend would have it, the headless horseman is buried. Hear the story of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow featuring famed fictional characters such as Ichabod Craine, Brom Bones and Katrina Van Tassel as our guide leads you on a fascinating walking tour. Excellent accommodations are provided at the Springhill Suites in nearby Fishkill, New York. This evening enjoy a special farm to table dinner at Sprout Creek Farm. A special tour has been included of Miss Fanny's Victorian Party House that is said to be haunted by a menacing spirit. This is one place you will not want to be left behind.

Day 2

This morning, continue on New York's haunted history trail. Experience an intriguing tour of Wing's Castle. View antique memorabilia and collectibles and learn about the castle's haunting. Take a walking ghost tour of the streets and buildings of Rhinebeck. Visit the Beekman Arms, America's oldest Inn where George Washington, Arron Burr and Alexander Hamilton hung out...and according to guests are still hanging out. Learn the chilling stories of Sara the ghost at the Wedding House and the sweet spirit at a local candy store. Later, enjoy free time for lunch and shopping in the downtown area filled with unique restaurants and shops. Depart for home with chilling but fond memories of this Halloween Heritage getaway.
