We join our traveling companions this morning to begin a most pleasant week's vacation that features one of America's most scenic destinations, Mackinac Island, Michigan. Today, you'll travel to Rochester, the city of many waterways located on the shores of Lake Ontario. This evening, you'll reside at the Holiday Inn. Dinner is included at one of the area's historic restaurants.D
Today we travel to Allen Park, Michigan, where the quaint Greenfield Inn will host our stay for the next two evenings. This evening is free for you to spend as you choose.B
Today we take a compelling step back in time with a visit to historic Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum. American History comes to life in Greenfield Village as we stroll the quaint streets, view the homes and browse through the workshops and mills that helped spark the Industrial Revolution. The Henry Ford Museum features over twelve acres of artifacts, inventions and mementos of American History. This evening, dinner is included at a local restaurant.B, D
After breakfast, we bid farewell to Dearborn and make our way into northern Michigan. We board our ferry for the short ride to Mackinac Island, where we'll step back "Somewhere in Time" to a bygone era. Our home for the next two evenings will be the gracious Island House, overlooking the Straits of Mackinac. (Horses, buggies and bicycles are the only transportation allowed on the island!) This evening, dinner is served at the hotel. Later, you may want to visit the Grand Hotel for music and dancing. (Note: Jackets and ties are required for gentlemen).B, D
After breakfast, we are met by our horse drawn carriage for a tour of such scenic and historic sights as Arch Rock and Surrey Hill. Midday, we arrive at the magnificent Grand Hotel where an outstanding luncheon awaits us. The rest of your day is free to explore the island on your own.B, L
We enjoy breakfast again this morning before we take leave of the majesty of Mackinac Island. We board our ferry for the crossing to St. Ignace where we board our motorcoach for a ride over the impressive bridge over the Straits of Mackinac. We head south through Bay City and Saginaw before we arrive early afternoon in Frankenmuth, the quaint Bavarian Village settled in 1845. Here, we check into our comfortable accommodations at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. We have time this afternoon for a narrated tour of the area, as well as enjoy some shopping time at Bonner's Christmas Wonderland, the largest Christmas store in the world. Tonight, a special treat is in store as we enjoy a famous Frankenmuth family style dinner at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant.B, D
Today begins with breakfast before we bid farewell to Michigan and hello to Canada. After pausing at customs, our morning travels bring us across Ontario and into yet another highlight of our journey, Niagara Falls. Enjoy overnight accommodations and dinner at the impressive Sheraton on the Falls ideally located next to shops, restaurants and adjacent to Casino Niagara.B, D
This morning, you'll enjoy breakfast at your hotel's fabulous Fallsview Restaurant. Later, we board our motorcoach and reluctantly depart for home.B
