Day 1

Travel to Fredericksburg, Virginia. Overnight accommodations are at the Best Western Inn. Dinner is included this evening.


Day 2

Today we will travel to Charleston, South Carolina. Our accommodations for the next two nights are provided at the Hotel Indigo Mount Pleasant. Dinner is included in historic Charleston.


Day 3

Charleston, considered one of the most charming spots of the South, is the focal point of your specially guided tour this morning. Traveling along cobblestone streets you'll view historic homes, restored public buildings, as well as the famed Battery. Explore City Market before cruising to Fort Sumter and enjoying a memorable tour. Here relive the day when the Confederate troops fired the first shots of the Civil War.

Day 4

Today explore Boone Hall Plantation, one of America's oldest working & most photographed plantations. The impressive half-mile arched entry is lined with massive moss-covered oak trees. Here you'll have the opportunity to tour the main house, see live presentations like those on the unique "Gullah Culture" as well as a historical look at the originial slave quarters. Next, travel along South Carolina's scenic coast to the charming town of Beaufort to enjoy its pre-Civil War ambiance. This evening arrive in the port city of Savannah where accommodations for the next three nights are provided at the Hampton Inn and Suites located in the historic district. Dinner is provided at an outstanding local restaurant.

Day 5

This morning enjoy a guided tour of Savannah which has the largest restored historic district in America. There are over 1,100 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. You'll visit a local historic house and relive the charm of the antebellum south. Later, you'll have time to explore Savannah's waterfront shopping area where 19th century warehouses have been converted into craft shops, unique boutiques, and eateries.


Day 6

Today we travel to Georgia's beautiful Golden Isles. Here you'll tour Jekyll Island's historic district, "Millionaire's Village" and learn about the celebrated Jekyll Island Club. You'll also view the cottages of such famous names as Rockefeller, Goodyear, Macy, and J. P. Morgan. Later visit St. Simons Island and see its famed lighthouse.

Day 7

After breakfast we travel towards home. Our overnight accommodations are at the Best Western located in Fredericksburg, Virginia.


Day 8

Today we will begin our journey home after a week-long Southern vacation.
